This is my first blog entry, and I am really not sure where to begin. Most of you reading this know me, but for those of you who don’t, read the about section of this site for more detail to know where I am coming from. There are several reasons why I wanted to start a blog, but the main objective of this blog is to be completely honest with you, and share my thoughts, feelings, and experiences I have as I move forward in my life. This blog will be about my personal journey from grieving over the losses in my life to thriving in the life that has been place in front of me. Grieving is defined as being sorrowful through loss or deprivation. Thriving is defined as booming, flourishing, roaring, and being very lively. Today, I find myself stuck between the two, not really sure where I fit with either one and not really sure where to go with my life.
I also wanted to start a blog to help others with the losses they have experienced in life, whether it is through death of a loved one, loss of a job, divorce, or any other tragic circumstances. I don’t not believe that anything happens by chance or coincidence, so by sharing with others my hope is that my experiences can bring comfort and peace to other people’s circumstances. My hope is that by sharing with you what I have experienced, I will encourage you to move forward with your life as well.
Lastly, I wanted to start a blog to promote books that I want to write in the future. I have already written one that I would like to get published and I have several others that I want to write and publish as well. I plan on writing and submitting articles to several Christian magazines to get my message out there, which is simply this:
No matter what you are facing, no matter how things in life turn out, no matter how angry you get at God for allowing tragedies in your life, He still loves you with a crazy, wild, unbreakable kind of love. He has always had your best interest at heart, even when what happens doesn’t make sense. And all He has ever wanted from you is your love, your affections, and your heart. All He wants is you.
My plan is to write once a week for the blog and to submit an article to a different magazine once a month. I figure if I put this out there, this will keep me accountable to get it done! I seem to work better and efficiently when I have accountability!
As I write, if there is a subject regarding grief or loss that you would like for me to touch on or expand on, please send me a message! I would love to hear from you!
Looking forward to new beginnings,
Dietrich Schaefer
